After School Program
Our After School Program for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities is located at The Metro School in Uptown Charlotte, operates from 3:00pm to 6:00pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00am to 4:00pm on Teacher Work Days throughout the school year. The program is both therapeutic and recreational in nature. Participants are assisted with program goals including reading, hand-writing, art, sorting, music, and computer skill areas. Every effort is taken to blend fun with function.
The After School Program Services are not currently available on Holidays or Vacation Days when the Schools are closed. The After School Program is open to all Charlotte area children with developmental disabilities aged five to twenty one. Transportation to the program is available to all CMS students through the CMS transportation department. Participants who receive CAP Day Supports through ASMC are eligible for transportation home at the end of the day. The After School Program is licensed by the NC Division of Health Service Regulation (formerly DFS).
ASMC has established a scholarship fund to aid qualifying families with the
