After School Program Closes

For the past three years, ASMC has operated an After School Program for children with developmental disabilities at the Metro School in downtown Charlotte. Denise Comeaux, Metro’s Principal, has been especially supportive and accommodating. Unfortunately, the number of students enrolled in the program had declined significantly, and we have made the difficult decision to close the program at the end of the 2009-2010 school year.

I would like to thank the staff for their excellent care, the students and their families for their trust, Speedway Children’s Charities and The Mary Duke Biddle Foundation for their financial support, and the hundreds of donors from all over the country who made donations in order to offer scholarships for our participants.
