Camp Dakota 2010
Friday July 30, 2010
We started Camp Dakota out with a sizzle and a pop and ended on a soft
and gentle note. On Thursday our campers really enjoyed our visit to
the Charlotte Nature Museum. The tour was amazing and the puppet show
was great and very informative. Our day ended with a visit from
Shirley Rhue with a wonderful art project making flowers with salt,
chalk, glue and glitter and the campers made their own flowers, very
nice. I
would like to thank Shirley for all the wonderful art projects she
created for our campers. Friday we went to ImaginOn which was very
fun and relaxing. The Afternoon ended with a presentation by our
campers and what a great job they did!
I now would like to think all the parents for allowing us to work with
their kids at Camp Dakota. The volunteers and I truely enjoyed the
time that we all spent together. I would like to thank the volunteers
for coming to camp everyday and for doing such a great job. And last I
would like to thank Dilworth United Methodist Church for allowing us to
use the space provided for Camp Dakoto, your the BEST.

Wednesday July 28, 2010
It was a calm and beautiful day today at Camp Dakota! We started the day with a very comfortable lunch outting at McDowell Park. We at lunch, protected from the light rain, watching it fall on Lake Wylie as a gentle breeze blew. On our walk after lunch, we saw a beautiful Crane and many fish who came to the edge of the lake in schools. On our way back we all screamed for ICE CREAM and had some yummie soft serve. We completed our day with goal work.
A special thanks to Za for keeping us all giggling!
