On Friday, August 27th, Autism Services of Mecklenburg County will be hosting the Spectrum of Hope Luncheon at Dilworth United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC. This special event will feature an inspiring and educational presentation by author Susan Senator. Mrs. Senator is the parent of a 19 year-old young man with autism. She has written two inspirational books on parenting a child with autism, appeared on numerous television programs and served as the keynote speaker at the 2009 Midwest Autism Society Conference. In her books, Making Peace With Autism, and The Autism Mom’s Survival Guide, Mrs. Senator offers the hard-won, in-the-trenches wisdom of someone who's been there and is still there today—and she demonstrates how families can find courage, contentment, and connection in the shadow of autism. ASMC is pleased to bring Mrs. Senator and her message of hope to the Charlotte community. Luncheon tickets are $40.00 per person. Proceeds will provide vital funding for ASMC’s programs and mission. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at ASMC’s website, www. AutismServices.org, or by contacting the Resource Development Office at 704-392-9220. ext 107. |
